AI Agent Node

A standout capability: the AI Agent node is an autonomous, tool-using agent packaged as a single node. You give it a goal; it reasons in a loop — deciding whether to answer directly or call a tool, running the tool, reading the result, and continuing until it reaches a final answer or a configured iteration limit.

In this guide

Built-in tools (zero configuration)

  • Web Search — look up current information on the web.
  • Calculator — evaluate arithmetic reliably.
  • Current Date / Time — get the present date and time.
  • HTTP Request — call an external API (GET / POST).
  • Database — the agent discovers tables and schema itself and runs read-only queries by default; writes are opt-in per tool, guarded by the same validators as the manual SQL node.

Workflow & agent tools

  • Any existing workflow can be exposed as a callable tool — its Parameter nodes become the tool's arguments.
  • Other agents can be called as tools, enabling multi-agent delegation.

Configuration

  • Choice of AI model, a custom system prompt, and a bounded maximum-iterations limit for cost and safety control.
✦
In short: it turns a plain-language goal into real actions — searching, calculating, calling APIs, querying data, and delegating — without wiring each step manually.
